HISTORICAL BUILDING HOUSES NEW TECHNOLOGY
Even though the embroidery machines are state-of-the-art, and the graphics department uses up-to-the-minute programs, all this HyperStitch activity takes place in an historic treasure in downtown Marengo. Here's a brief history:
1880 Building erected on another site south of Washington St. Move to present location
1892 First site of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Parishioners worshipped in the original building while their current church was under construction
1902 Home of the Marengo Beacon newspaper for 82 years. A photo lab was found in the basement, and clerical workers had offices there and upstairs
1984 Building purchased and upgraded by Craig and Peggy Feldt, as offices for their construction company
1989 Building purchased by Lee and Lori Martinek as offices for their home building company
1994 Building purchased by Jim and Judy McGurn to house Prairie Street Printing, in partnership with ….
1999 Building purchased by Pat and Pat Lawlor as the second home of HyperStitch
